Doing Battle with my Apron

I wear an apron anytime I cook. I do it because I don't have a lot of clothes and I'm a messy cook. But my apron and I do not always get along.

My current apron has very thin ties. I like that because they're light and I'm kind of freaky about things I wear - too much weight (like layers, for example) make me feel claustrophobic.

Unfortunately, the thin ties get tangled easily. Or maybe it's just me. But when I untie the apron, about half the time I get the strings in a knot and have to struggle to get free from the apron.

I'm embarrassed to admit this, but a while back, I couldn't get the knot out. So I wore my apron until my husband got home from work and could untie it.

I wish I could say I learned my lesson and am more careful when I untie my apron, but that would be a lie. I still do it too fast and have to fight to get myself free. Like today.

Am I the only one?

  1. Patty, I had the same problem! Then I got myself an apron with strings that wrap around and tie in front! No more fumbling with knots. Maybe a similar apron will work for you.

    1. I'm so glad I'm not the only one! And that's a great idea! I will definitely look for one like that. That would make it easier in a lot of ways!
